Martin West BSc ACA
With a particular interest in technology, Martin encourages its use to help clients manage their accounts in an effective way whilst generating the management reports to understand their business’s numbers. Martin takes pride in helping businesses and owners achieve their ambitions across a variety of sectors.
Assisting businesses both locally and across the UK, Martin advises on core accounting and taxation aspects as well as areas such as R&D tax reliefs, and investment reliefs including the Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS and EIS).
Martin was born and grew up in Canterbury, and attended Barton Court Grammar School before studying accountancy and finance at Southampton University. He returned to Canterbury to join Burgess Hodgson as a trainee in 2003.
Having qualified with Burgess Hodgson he was made an Associate in 2010, followed by Partner in 2012.
Martin lives in Canterbury with his wife and two daughters.
A keen sportsman, he enjoys playing 5 aside football regularly with the office and against clients, as well as the occasional round of golf if the weather is good!
Martin has also been a league ten pin bowler for the past 12 years which gives him the opportunity to meet up with friends regularly, as well as trying to beat his highest game of 258.
