Tom Saltmer BBA ACA CTA
Tom enjoys managing a portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries. His expertise covers all aspects of accountancy, including accounts and audit, company and personal tax compliance and tax planning for both individuals and businesses.
Tom has extensive knowledge of tax reliefs for innovative and entrepreneurial companies including EIS, SeedEIS, EMI schemes, Patent Box and particularly Research and Development tax relief. His expertise on the matter has seen him assisting other clients outside of his portfolio with their tax relief claims, and generating millions of pounds of additional tax relief on their behalf.
As well as advising clients in respect of both accounts and tax, Tom is also authorised by ICAEW for Probate work.
Tom joined Burgess Hodgson as a trainee accountant in 2004 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008. Tom then qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 2013.
He was made an associate in 2013, before being invited to join as a member of the LLP in April 2016.
Outside of the office, Tom lives in Canterbury with his young family. He is a keen runner – regularly competing in local races – as well as cycling and playing football.
