The BH Payroll Bureau has learned that The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has begun employer spot checks across the UK. They will be targeting employers who they suspect are failing to comply with their workplace pension duties.
Employers who have been selected will receive a statutory notice ahead of the visit from TPR, and any employer who fails to comply will be named and shamed on TPR’s website.
Changes to Auto-Enrolment over the next few months include automatic re-enrolment, an increase to the minimum contribution rate (from 1% to 3% for employees, and from 1% to 2% for employers), and a change to the regulations for new employers starting Auto-Enrolment for the first time.
