Trainee Payroll Executive

 

Job Description: 

We are currently looking for a full-time Trainee Payroll Executive to join our busy Payroll Bureau team in Canterbury. The Payroll Bureau is a division of Burgess Hodgson LLP, a 18 member firm of Chartered Accountants, with over 120 staff along with a very strong tax presence. Situated in the historical city of Canterbury, our quality client base not only covers the South East and London, but also beyond.

In this role, you will be part of the payroll team with tasks such as processing confidential client information; preparing payrolls; dealing directly with HM Revenue and Customs; and working with our valued clients to ensure a seamless integration of the BH Payroll Bureau with their businesses.

You will have the opportunity to train professionally towards gaining your CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualifications, whilst enjoying a competitive salary and a rewarding career with an accomplished firm that plays an active role in the local community – professionally, sporting, social and charitable. The training is fully supported.

The right candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 120 UCAS points or equivalent
  • The ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • A high standard of spoken and written English

The standard hours for this position are 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Qualified Company Secretary

 

Job Description:

We are a Canterbury based, 18 partner firm seeking a Qualified Company Secretary to join our Statutory Department.

The department is a busy part of the firm providing first class company secretarial and governance services to a large number of its corporate clients and LLPs.

The ideal candidate will be ICSA qualified and be able to hit the ground running, providing excellent support to the manager from the outset.

We are offering a competitive salary, based on qualifications and experience.

This is a full-time position.

 

The Role:

Working in our dedicated team, and managing your own portfolio of clients, you will help provide a broad range of duties including but not limited to:

  • Arranging formation of companies and LLPs.
  • Assisting with company reorganisations.
  • Maintaining statutory records.
  • Preparation and submission to Companies House of Confirmation Statements and other forms.
  • Preparation of minutes.
  • Undertaking Companies House and other searches.
  • Day to day company secretarial services including officer appointments, resignations, changes of registered address and change of accounting reference date.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to step up in responsibility, as you will be both supporting the Manager with the department’s workload and affairs and supervising the development of trainee company secretaries.

 

The Candidate

The successful candidate should:

  • Be ICSA qualified ideally with a minimum of two years’ experience in a relevant position
  • Possess good knowledge of MS Office and Blueprint software (preferred)
  • Demonstrate strong corporate administration skills
  • Be able to work well with senior management
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines and manage several projects at any one time
  • Be able to use their initiative and provide solutions
  • Be flexible and have a diplomatic approach

Trainee Company Secretary

 

Job Description:

We are a Canterbury based, 18 partner firm seeking a Trainee Company Secretary to join our Statutory Department.

The department is a busy part of the firm providing first class company secretarial and governance services to a large number of its corporate clients and LLPs.

The preferred candidate will have already started the CSQS qualification and ideally be part-qualified, moving towards becoming qualified.

We are offering a competitive salary, based on qualifications and experience and will fund course fees to completion of the CSQS qualification.

Alongside the formal qualification you will also be gaining work experience at Burgess Hodgson.

Upon completion of all CSQS modules and fulfilment of the work experience requirement you will be eligible to apply for full Chartered status of ICSA (The Governance Institute).

This is a full-time position.
