The Job Support Scheme, due to start on 1 November as a replacement for the furlough schemes, has now been amended to support businesses which have to close due to Coronavirus restrictions – this only applies to businesses legally required to shut as part of local or national restrictions.
The government will pay up to two thirds of wages for this period, up to a maximum of £2,100 per month. Businesses will have to pay employer’s NI & pension contributions.
In addition, cash grants to the business of up to £3,000 per month may be paid.
