Matthew Sutton BSc FCA
Matthew is able to combine his experience in auditing listed companies with a broad expertise accrued from a variety of professions to deliver support to small and medium-sized businesses. He is well-versed in making the numbers add up, a skill which is often utilised to help clients produce documents for obtaining bank finance.
Matthew has always lived in Canterbury, and attended St Edmund’s school in the city as well as being a Canterbury Cathedral chorister.
He earned a degree in mathematics from the University of Bath, before returning to Canterbury and joining Burgess Hodgson in 2001. He became a Partner in 2010.
Matthew now lives just outside of Canterbury in Bridge, with his wife Cathryn, three sons and a daughter (all accountants in waiting!). He is a keen sportsman, regularly turning out for the Burgess Hodgson football team and happy to accept madcap challenges, whether cycling 120 miles or completing a fell race with 1,000 metres of climbing!
