Tom Saltmer BBA FCA CTA
Tom’s expertise covers all aspects of accountancy, including accounts and audit, company and personal tax compliance and tax planning for both individuals and businesses across a wide range of industries.
Tom has extensive knowledge of tax reliefs for innovative and entrepreneurial companies including EIS, SeedEIS, EMI schemes, Patent Box and particularly Research and Development tax relief. He has been instrumental in implementing numerous tax relief claims, generating millions of pounds of additional tax relief. He is also authorised by ICAEW for Probate work.
Tom joined Burgess Hodgson as a trainee accountant in 2004, later becoming qualified as a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor. He was made an associate in 2013, before being invited to join as a member of the LLP in April 2016.
Outside of the office, Tom lives in Canterbury with his young family. He is a keen runner, regularly competing in local races, as well as cycling and playing football.
